Born in Catania, grown up in Australia and when he was 16 years old back in Sicily where in 1982 he opened with his family their first restaurant.
20 years later, back to his mother land. Raimondo open up his first pizza place in in early 2002 in the Northern Beaches. Almost after 20 years his doors are still open making Ciao Belli one of the most well recognised pizza shop in Sydney.
Quality of food, passion for cooking and love for his origin make the pizza and his pasta a “must try”. After many years Ray is always in front of his wood fire oven every night, guaranteeing the quality and consistency of his dishes. Alfio, his son, is now taking over his father footsteps but always under Ray’s supervision.
The all family has been part of the business since day one, Cettina (Ray’s wife) cooking the old recipes pasta, the daughters (Flavia and Marianna) running the floor and greeting customers. The girls are now married with kids and no longer in the business, but their loved given to Ciao Belli is still remembered from all regular customers.
